Al-Quds University (Palestine) and Bard College (New York) announce a search for the founding Dean of the Al-Quds/Bard Honors College for Liberal Arts and Sciences, to be located in Abu Dies, in the Jerusalem Governorate where the Dean will be based. The four-year college, which will award degrees from Al-Quds and Bard, will open in fall, 2009.The Dean will play a leadership role in assembling faculty and developing the curriculum.The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to, and vision of, rigorous, progressive, inter-disciplinary undergraduate education. S/he will hold a doctorate in the humanities, social sciences or sciences, with a record of academic accomplishment and excellence, and will have familiarity with liberal arts education. S/he will have fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in Arabic is strongly desirable.
