Clemente Course in Humanities

The Clemente Course in Humanities provides college-level instruction, with the award of Bard College credits, to economically and educationally disadvantaged individuals. The program has no cost and takes place in an accessible and welcoming community setting. Participants study four disciplines: literature, art history, moral philosophy, and U.S. history. Like their more affluent undergraduate counterparts, students explore great works of fiction, poetry, drama, painting, sculpture, architecture, and philosophy, while learning also about the events and ideals that define the United States as a nation.
