Biography:

B.A., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., New York University; visiting scholar, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris III, and NYU in France. Area of specialization: 19th- and 20th-century French literature. Additional areas of teaching and research interest: literature as a response to philosophy, the possibilities and limits of representation, the Romantic autobiography and bildungsroman, and translation theory and practice. Co-translator: Pascal Quignard, The Hatred of Music (Yale University Press, 2016). He has organized and/or participated in numerous conference panels at NYU, McGill University, Stanford University, and the 20th/21st Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium.
