Biography:

B.A., DePaul University; M.S., Ph.D., Rutgers University. Professor Cain previously taught at Hampshire College, where his courses included Introduction to Social Psychology; Introduction to Experimental Psychology; Quantitative Methods; Stereotyping, Person Perception, and Intergroup Relations; and Emotion, Cognition, and Bias. He was the recipient of various teaching, research, and service awards at Rutgers, including funding from the National Science Foundation for a study on the accumulation of self-fulfilling prophecies and a project aimed at improving mathematics in urban schools. He has published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Journal of Research in Personality, and Psychology and Aging, among others.
