Biography:

B.M., Oberlin College; M.M., D.M.A., Juilliard School. Served as Postgraduate Piano Fellow at Bard College Conservatory of Music, where he worked with Dawn Upshaw and the Graduate Vocal Arts Program. Awards and honors include: medalist in the 2009 Hilton Head International Piano Competition; top-ranked winner of the 2005 Jacob K. Javits Fellowship, first-prize winner at the 2006 Corpus Christi International Competition for Piano and Strings; and laureate of the 2006 Gina Bachauer Competition at the Juilliard School. Performing interests include showcasing the music of our time, including solo piano and chamber works by Jonathan Harvey, Osvaldo Golijov, Arlene Sierra, Tzvi Avni, Judith Shatin, Ted Goldman, and others. Previously served on the faculty of the Young Artist Program at the Yellow Barn Music Festival, where he has performed and recorded with such notable musicians as Peter Frankl, Susan Narucki, Donald Weilerstein, and Anthony Marwood. He has also worked with pianists Boris Berman, Gil Kalish, and Seth Knopp, among others, in masterclasses and workshops. He has performed across the United States and in Israel, Turkey, Canada, and Japan. At Bard since 2009.
