Biography:
B.A., Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley. Teaches American, African American, and American Indian literatures from the colonial period to the 20th century. Research focuses on the mid-19th to the early-20th century, with interests in linguistics, critical theory, ecocriticism, and the history of anthropology. Forthcoming articles on Claude McKay and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Has been an editor of the journal
Qui Parle (2008-11) and the recipient of, among other recent awards, a Chernin Mentoring Fellowship (2011-12). At Bard since 2012.
