Biography:

B.A., Oberlin College; Ph.D., City University of New York. Awards include John Rewald Memorial Dissertation Fellowship, CUNY (1997–98, 1998–99); Mellon Seminar Fellowship (2000); Library Research Grant, Getty Center, Los Angeles (2000). Taught at Hunter College; College of Staten Island, CUNY; Parsons School of Design; Pratt Institute; Columbia University. Author of numerous articles, book reviews, art reviews, exhibition catalogue essays, and encyclopedia entries. At Bard since 2003.
