Sound and Affect
As part of the Experimental Humanities "Sound Cluster," the Anthropology Program and EH presents "Sound and Affect," a six-part Fall lecture series featuring speakers including Jesse Shipley, Ryan Dohoney, Deborah A. Thomas, Neo Muyanga and Sarah Nuttal, Matt Sakakeeny, and Agnes Umunna Fallah Kamara.
The Fall Experimental Humanities Mellon Lecture
On November 6, Dr. Alan Liu (Professor of English, UC Santa Barbara) will present the inaugural EH Mellon Lecture. His talk “Rediscovering the Humanities: Humanities Advocacy in the Digital Age” will explore strategies of communicating the values of the humanities in today's society.
EH Awarded Mellon Foundation Grant
Bard College has been awarded an $800,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the College’s Experimental Humanities initiative. Support from the Mellon Foundation will transform Experimental Humanities at Bard into a hub for scholarly, curricular, and artistic innovations.
The Experimental Humanities initiative is now hiring two Mellon Post-doctoral Fellows and a Digital Projects Coordinator. (Application deadline for both positions: December 15, 2014.)
We are also searching for a p/t Media Corps Fellow to lead a team of work study students for the the 2014-15 academic year.
