Questions and Answers

Q:Are students who do not demonstrate financial need eligible for Bard Scholarships or the EEC Scholarship? If one's school uses percentiles instead of rankings, is a letter from a school official explaining that the student would be in the top ten if ranking was used sufficient to qualify the student for the EEC scholarship? Also, are there any additional merit-based scholarships besides the one listed on the website? Finally, are students notified of having received a merit scholarship at the same time their financial-aid package is sent? Thank you.
A:All students no matter how their school ranks are reviewed for the EEC scholarship. Hundreds of applicants qualify and in the final review, need is a considered variable. In the allocation of the $21 million financial aid budget need is always a consideration. There are no additional merit scholarships other than those listed.
