Student Activities

Events organized by the Office of Residential Life typically include informal community meetings, international dinners, sporting events, and cultural day trips. The Office of Residential Life is supported by the Student Life Committee, which is made up of students, faculty members, and the Residential Life Coordinator.
Bard College Berlin's campus contains several green spaces and is close to four parks.
The nearby SPOK Fitness Center serves as the school gym and is accessible weekdays and weekends free of charge.
A wide variety of cultural events are sponsored by Bard College Berlin including concerts, workshops and lectures. Each semester starts with The Berlin Weekend, personalized walking trips led by faculty, students and staff through their favorite neighborhood. An Open Studio is hosted by the art faculty at the end of each semester to publicly showcase student work.

    Housing & Meals

    Visiting juniors and Begin in Berlin students live in shared double rooms in dormitories or suite style housing on campus.  The Bard College Berlin campus is located in the residential district of Pankow and all buildings are within walking distance including classrooms, dorms, cafeteria, the SPOK sport center and the factory studio art building.  Meals are provided at the campus cafeteria using organic local ingredients.  There is always a vegetarian option.

    Orientation

    All Bard Abroad in Berlin programs begin with a comprehensive online predeparture training. Upon arrival on campus, students undertake a two-day orientation that will focus on program expectations (academic and behavioral), safety and health information, a discussion of cultural adjustment strategies, and an introduction to life in Berlin.
