The Study Abroad Process
Where to Begin Students planning to study abroad should begin the process of researching programs their sophomore year. The following steps should be taken:
- Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements outlined below.
- Contact study abroad adviser Trish Fleming at email@example.com or 845-758-7080 to schedule an advising appointment.
- Research study abroad options either online at www.iiepassport.org or by visiting the study abroad library located in the Ottaway Gatehouse (the white hexagonal building at the corner of Annandale Road and Blithewood Avenue). Program materials there are available for students to take.
- Discuss your study abroad plans with your academic advisers, foreign language faculty (if applicable), and/or members of your moderation boards. Advisers' approval will be necessary (see Application and Approval below).
Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must have successfully moderated in order to be eligible to study abroad. Transfer students:
at least half of your total credits must be earned in Annandale in order to earn a Bard College degree (which might affect your ability to spend a full semester abroad). Check with the Registrar to determine your status.
Application and Approval
In order to receive Bard approval to study abroad, students must meet with the study abroad adviser and complete the petition to study abroad. VIEW MORE >>

Bard financial assistance only transfers to Bard students participating in one of the Bard programs or exchanges. VIEW MORE >>
