Bard College Berlin Programs

Students at Bard College Berlin participate in an intellectual community like no other. With small, discussion-based classes taught in English, an innovative and challenging curriculum, an international student body, and a world-class faculty, Bard College Berlin provides a truly unique experience in the intellectual and artistic hub of Europe. Bard and non-Bard students alike can come to Bard College Berlin to participate in the college’s rigorous programs in the humanities and social sciences, with wide-ranging courses in intellectual history as well as electives in philosophy, literature, film, art history, the practicing arts, and social and economic theory.

Bard College Berlin

Students in Bard College Berlin's four-year B.A. program concentrate in humanities, the arts, and social thought or economics, politics, and social thought, and may earn dual German and American bachelor’s degrees. Bard College Berlin also offers specialized Project Year and Academy Year programs.

Begin in Berlin

For Bard College First-Years
Bard College students have the opportunity to spend one or both semesters of their first year studying at Bard College Berlin. Students who choose to "Begin in Berlin" will enjoy a global introduction to Bard's first year that will serve them well throughout their academic careers in Annandale and beyond.

Bard in Berlin Study Abroad

Any currently enrolled Bard or non–Bard undergraduate students who have received permission from their institution may attend this program. Bard students must moderate before being considered for study abroad. Participants study literature, politics, philosophy, art history, theater, and the practicing arts at Bard College Berlin.
