Applying to BGIA

The BGIA is designed for students in their third or fourth year of college-level study and recent college graduates. In exceptional cases, second-year students are accepted into the program. Students may enroll for one semester or summer at a time but can reapply to extend for a second term.

Application Deadline

The Global and International Affairs Program works on the basis of rolling admissions. Primary consideration is given to students who apply before Febrary 1 for the Summer Program, April 1 for the fall semester, and November 1 for the spring semester. The preferred deadline for Bard students applying to the Spring 2009 program is September 30, 2008.

BGIA offers generous Global Studies Awards, competitive awards based on merit and need, to students seeking financial aid. These awards cover a portion of the program tuition. Students must apply for a Global Studies Award when they submit their application to the program. Undergraduate students are encouraged to check with their host college to see if the financial aid they are receiving will transfer to cover the cost of BGIA.
