School Philosophy

Bard High School Early College has been created on the premise that high-school-aged students are young adults whose ambition to learn must be taken seriously. Love of learning dominates the BHSEC culture.

Our rigorous curriculum allows students to fulfill all of the New York State Education Department Regents requirements through an engaging and demanding college-level education. Mastery of subjects at is demonstrated by our students' ability to make reasoned analysis and to offer thoughtful and well-supported cases for their views.

Upon graduation, students will have earned both a New York State high school Regents diploma and a tuition-free Bard College associate degree. Our partnership with the New York Academy of Sciences provides additional curricular and extra-curricular opportunities in the sciences.
