10th Grade Admissions

Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) accepts students into the 10th grade. Students interested in applying to the 10th grade must begin the application process in the fall of the 9th grade and meet all the promotional criteria of their current grade.

In addition, applicants must fit our admissions profile (85% GPA, 3’s or 4’s on the Citywide ELA and math exams, and have no more than 10 unexcused absences), fill out the Department of Education high school form, the BHSEC application, and the academic reference (optional). They also need to take the BHSEC writing and math assessment.

The BHSEC application, a copy of the 8th grade report card, and the academic reference (optional) are due on the date students are scheduled for the writing and math assessment or no later than November 7, 2008.

Students will be invited to interview at Bard High School Early College based on the results of the assessment, academic records, and academic references. Not all students will be asked to interview at BHSEC. We will contact students by phone if they are eligible for an interview. This is the final stage in the admission process.
