of BHSEC II: Giving to Bard High School Early College
To
provide the small classes and excellent faculty that make the Bard High
School Early College program so outstanding and successful costs
money—more than the New York City Department of Education provides.
The
college text books, library, science labs, tutoring and college
transfer services used by our early college students costs even more.
Indeed, Bard College and Bard High School Early College need to raise
almost $1.5 million annually—or $3000 per early college student—to
accomplish our mission of equipping our broadly diverse but highly
motivated students for upper level college work by the time they
graduate.
Our
model works—our students are highly engaged with their studies and find
that they are “more than prepared” for the rigors of advanced college
work. We ask that you engage with us as well by contributing today to
help sustain this successful educational enterprise that is preparing
the leaders of tomorrow. At least 50% of your contribution will be
earmarked for an endowment established for the specific purpose of
hiring adjunct college faculty for the early college program.
