MAKING IT HAPPEN: Anton Vidokle
Everything You Always Wanted To Know About E-flux But Were Afraid To Ask
E-flux is one of the most inventive artistic/curatorial initiatives in recent years. Co-initiated in 1999 by Anton Vidokle, born in Moscow and based in New York and Berlin, e-flux structures and digitally distributes information about and to the art world globally. Rather than being an artist-run space e-flux can be described as a long-term artists’ project, which in fact is also profitable. E-flux runs a small storefront project space on the Lower East side of Manhattan, and it organizes various other projects. One of them is unitednationsplaza, an exhibition as school located in the city of Berlin, organized by Vidokle in collaboration with Liam Gillick, Boris Groys, Martha Rosler, Walid Raad, Jalal Toufic, Nikolaus Hirsch, Natascha Sadr Haghighian and Tirdad Zolghadr.
MAKING IT HAPPEN is a series of public lectures addressing new terrains being explored in contemporary curating. Lectures take place every Tuesday at the Center for Curatorial Studies. Reservations recommended. Please call 845.758.7598 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
