The Visitor Talks – Sara Cwynar

Sara Cwynar ​(b. 1985, Canada) ​received her Bachelor of Design from York University, and her MFA in photography from Yale University. Cwynar is interested in the way that images morph, accumulate, endure and change in meaning and value over time, and the effect this has on a collective worldview. Her works can be found in the collections of the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art Library, New York; Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, USA; Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Canada; Fondazione Prada, Milan, Italy; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, Germany; amongst others. Recent exhibitions include MoMA PS1 in New York, Les Rencontres D’Arles in France, and Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto. She is the winner of the 2016 Prix Baloise at Art Basel for her first film, Soft Film.
