CCS Bard Library and Archives
The CCS Bard Library and Archives are a dynamic and integral component of the two-year MA program in curatorial studies. The Library contains nearly 20,000 books and periodicals including an extensive collection of exhibition catalogues and monographs on individual artists. The Archives contain 1,600 artist and subject files documenting the contemporary visual arts from the mid-1960’s to the present, the CCS Bard institutional archives, the personal papers of curators, and the organizational archives of galleries. The Archives also contain materials documenting the exhibition history of major international exhibitions of contemporary art.
CCS Bard is also the home of the Art Spaces Archives Project (AS-AP.org), a collaborative visual arts initiative that was created in 2003 to document the archival heritage of for- and not-for-profit art spaces throughout the United States.
