M.S., Environmental Policy, Bard College; B.A., Political Science, Montana State University. After finishing her M.S. from the Bard Center for Environmental Policy and working on numerous political and social campaigns, Katie acted as a consultant with the United Nations Development Programme. At UNDP, she supported programs addressing the threats of climate change to developing countries. Katie next took a position as the Director of Sustainability and Partnerships at the green start-up she had helped launch during her time at Bard, Clean Air Lawn Care, as it began a national franchise sales campaign. In this position, Katie negotiated and managed strategic commercial and governmental partnerships, oversaw sustainability compliance, recruited franchise owners, and coordinated a national branding and marketing campaign. She most recently worked in new media marketing and PR 2.0 before returning to Bard College to coordinate the launch of the MBA in Sustainability.
Graduate Admissions Counselor
B.A., Political Science, State University of New York at New Paltz. As the Graduate Admissions Counselor for the Bard College Graduate Programs in Sustainability, Caitlin is the Bard GPS point of contact for all things admissions and enrollment related. She works with the Marketing and Enrollment team to bring admissions and recruitment initiatives to fruition for both the Bard Center for Environmental Policy and the MBA in Sustainability. Caitlin loves her work guiding prospective graduate students through the admissions process here at Bard and is inspired by the great work those graduate students go on to pursue. Her research and academic interests include local, state, and international and non-governmental politics; the intersection between the state of the environment and human rights; community-based agriculture; food politics; education politics; and sustainability (including organization-wide pursuits towards environmental and social sustainability).
B.A. Economics, Wesleyan University. Steve's primary responsibilities combine frontline recruiting efforts and strategic marketing for both the Bard Center for Environmental Policy as well as the Bard MBA in Sustainability. Steve has been a marketing innovator for more than twenty years, working in media, technology, advertising, retail and community small business development. Regardless of scale, Steve has been instrumental in identifying friction with product, marketing and creating holistic solutions to help these various entities achieve scale. Over the course of a diverse career, Steve has worked for both internet startups and multi-national corporations as well as owned and operated an outdoor litefestyle store based here in the Hudson Valley that specializes in sustainably produced outdoor clothing and locally made bodycare products. Steve is on various local non-profit and community boards and his personal and professional interests are sustainable food systems and local economies.
