Application Instructions
- Slideroom online application ($65 application fee).
- A personal statement written by the applicant of not more than 600 words addressing your professional and educational interests in relation to an environmental policy issue or problem and how you feel the Bard CEP program will help you acheive them.
- A sample of written work such as a college research paper, published article, professional work such as briefs, information for media, or grant proposals. Please include the title, date of composition, and your name.
- Three letters of recommendation from academic and professional sources. The Bard Center for Environmental Policy accepts letters of recommendation through the Slideroom online application system. Letters of recommendation are also accepted on paper, on official forms. Please contact Bard CEP if you would like to use these paper forms. Letters should be addressed to the Graduate Admission Office (address below), signed across the sealed flaps, and sent directly to the Bard Center for Environmental Policy by the authors.
- Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended. (Transcripts should be sent to the Bard Center for Environmental Policy, see address below. Bard CEP is not responsible for transcripts sent to other departments at Bard College.)
- Graduate Record Examination scores. The Bard College school code is 2037. There is no departmental code. (Applicants to the dual degree program with Pace Law School, LSAT scores are acceptable in lieu of GRE scores.)
- Letters of Recommendation. The Bard Center for Environmental Policy accepts letters of recommendation through the Slideroom online application system. When prompted in Step 8: References, enter the recommender's name and email. The recommender will receive an email with details instructions on how to submit his/her recommendation online. Letters of recommendation are also accepted on paper, on official forms. Please contact Bard CEP if you would like to use these paper forms. Letters should be addressed to the Graduate Admission Office, signed across the sealed flaps, and sent directly to the Bard Center for Environmental Policy by the authors (address below).
- TOEFL. Non-native speakers of English must demonstrate proficiency in English and should take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). TOEFL scores should be sent to the Bard Center for Environmental Policy by the Educational Testing Service. The Bard College school code is 2037. Other evidence of English-language proficiency will be accepted only with the approval of the Graduate Admission Committee.
- Description of Service (DOS). Required for applicants to the Fellows program as an official record of Peace Corps service.
