Bard CEP Visiting Lecturer Rebecca Barnes' study reveals drought risk in the Rocky Mountains

Bard Center for Environmental Policy visiting lecturer Rebecca Barnes, along with researchers from the University of Colorado-Boulder and the US Geological Survey, published a paper that studies the relationship between climate and ecosystems, as well as the risk that the Rocky Mountain region faces due to snowmelt. Historically, 85% of water resources for that area comes from snow as it eventually melts.

To read more about Barnes’ findings, see this National Science Foundation article. Her research is being published in the journal Hydrological Processes
