News & Announcements Founder gains Bard CEP Alumna as an assistant

Bard Center for Environmental Policy 2011 Graduate Vanessa Arcara is now Bill McKibben's, founder of, new assistant. She is involved in working on the organizations U.S. campaigns team to build connections with United States farming and ranching communities being affected by climate change.

"Most advanced degree programs feature classes that offer a deep but narrow range of expertise. Bard CEP understands that a systems approach is a far more useful way to train future leaders who need to communicate well with policymakers, scientists, and the public. The wide-ranging coursework has made me confident in responding to any number of issues that arise in my current role at, where I assist Bill McKibben and work with staff to create effective campaigns that fight the climate crisis," said Arcara, when asked about her Bard CEP graduate school experience.

Congratulations, Vanessa!
