Bard CEP Director Keynotes Annual South American Business Forum in Buenos Aires

Bard Center for Environmental Policy Director Eban Goodstein was a keynote speaker at the annual South American Business Forum in Buenos Aires, Argentina this year.

Held annually in August in Buenos Aires, the SABF draws students and business and political leaders from around the world to come together for a discussion about global development, sustainability, and the challenges the next generation of business leaders face.

This year's topic focused on changing the rules of the game and the importance of sustainable growth, entrepreneurship, and the relationship between state and technology.

Dr. Goodstein spoke about the rapidly changing world that businesses face. With declining ecosystems, limited natural resources, climate change and a myriad of other issues, Goodstein answered this important question: how will humanity survive?

"We need to our commercial system to mimic our natural system. In natural systems there is no pollution, no energy crisis, no systems, financial or otherwise, it’s simply too big to fail!” said Goodstein.
