Kristen Wilson '07 makes local news for spearheading the first annual Live Well Kingston Health Summit
Bard CEP alumnus Kristen Wilson '07 was featured in the Kingston Times on January 16th and in the Daily Freeman on January 23rd for her work with the Live Well Kingston coalition. They recently launched the first annual Live Well Kingston Health Summit with the goal of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle through environmental policy and systems change.

In the Kingston Times, Kristen is featured for her efforts to raise awareness about what programs already exist and to foster strong community values around making healthy lifestyle choices, especially in the winter months. The Health Summit, which took place on January 23, 2014, was a place for the community to come together, gather information, build connections, and get inspired around these critical topics. She says, "It's not so much about creating new exercise or nutrition programs. Lots of programs already exist. It's about creating a community culture and infrastructure that supports healthy lifestyle choices."

Kristen led the opening ceremony with over 80 participants in attendance; over 300 people attended Summit overall. Mayor Gallo and other city leaders were present in support of Kingston's initiative to promote a "culture of health."
