Class visits Sustainable South Bronx in NYC
Eight members our graduate program's first year class took a field trip to the Sustainable South Bronx on 9/30. The visit included a meeting with SSBx staff and a tour of the neighborhood where plans are underway to build greenway. Located in Hunts Point, this neighborhood has been burdened with unemployment, poverty, toxic industry, and a disproportionate
amount of the city's waste. SSBx strives to provide jobs to community members through sustainable and innovative projects, such as worker training programs, weatherization, green roofing, park and greenway creation, and much more. For more info:
