"Ancient technique could boost food production," CEP students Nicholas Martin and Justin Wexler published in the Poughkeepsie Journal

Nick Martin and Justin Wexler are first-year master’s degree students at the Bard Center for Environmental Policy. They took a short-course elective on bochar in January, which examined the problem of scaling up environmental solutions by focusing on the use of biochar.
They write about the discover of terra preta, their experience creating biochar, and how this technology could contribute to food security and carbon sequestration. "An ancient environmental technology is making a comeback."
