Sebastian Pillitteri, EP '13, publishes in the Poughkeepsie Journal, "¿No hay agua? Tour studies water use in Mexico"
Sebastian Pillitteri recently completed a two week short course on “Slow Water” with other Bard CEP students in Oaxaca, Mexico as part of Bard CEP’s January term. He writes about the group's experience visiting a local Oaxacan farmer and the innovative small scale approaches to water management that are being implemented in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca.
"Here in the Hudson Valley we are blessed with frequent rain, but this does not mean we cannot adjust how we view and use water. If we begin to see ourselves as not only consumers of water, but as its stewards, we can ensure that future generations have access to the resources we do."
