Description

Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) is recruiting a Research Intern to assist our Legislative Director. Preference will be given to candidates who are willing to travel between Portland and Salem during the 2013 legislative session. We are seeking someone who will commit to at least 10 hours a week and ideally for the length of the entire session. Our internships consist of about 80% program-related work and 20% administrative work. They are unpaid positions unless otherwise indicated. We offer a fun, pleasant atmosphere and flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities for a Research Intern include policy and legislative research, monitoring the 2013 Oregon Legislative session, including attending hearings at the Capitol, and other projects as needed. A qualified candidate will have some experience in a policy, legislative or political field and an interest in environmental issues.

Qualifications

OEC seeks interns who possess excellent research, writing and communication skills, and have the ability and motivation to work independently.
