The Energy Manager will collaborate with all College constituencies to develop a working model for the integration of energy management and other sustainable concepts and practices into the operations of the College.  Providing leadership to the College’s energy program, the Energy Manager will be task with utility systems and advancing the Pomona Sustainability Action Plan. The Energy Manager will work in collaboration with various departments of Facilities and Campus Services to include the Sustainability Integration Office, Maintenance, and Project Management/Planning.  The Energy Manager will identify desirable sustainability initiatives, assess cost effectiveness, technical feasibility and impact, and gain acceptance by the College Community. This position will monitor and analyze energy consumption and costs, oversee campus metering and energy monitoring programs, identify funding opportunities, coordinate energy retrofit projects and energy audits, including a retro-commissioning/monitoring-based commissioning process for campus facilities.  This position will also establish effective standards and procedures for the operation of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensuring comfortable and efficient indoor environments,  monitoring EMS software, detecting equipment failures and monitoring scheduling, setpoints, and other variables for optimum facility efficiency.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of five years experience in energy management, facilities retrofits/design, and/or maintenance, preferably in higher education.  Experience with sustainability programs, initiatives, and implementation of sustainable practices.  Demonstrated career experience in mechanical, lighting, and HVAC systems, including the ability to read and understand building drawings/blueprints, architectural plans, and operational/maintenance manuals. Candidate should possess excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  Experience with building management systems software i.e. Andover and proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

This position requires a Bachelors degree in a related technical or engineering discipline or equivalent career experience, Energy Manager Certification strongly preferred and LEED AP or ability to obtain within 18 months. Selected candidate should be available to respond to issues 24 hours /day.
