Description

A national association for municipally owned electric utilities seeks an experienced Energy and Environmental Specialist to provide technical, regulatory, and compliance assistance on engineering, environmental, energy and related issues to constituents. Support the engineering department with comment submissions; conferences; member services; grading grant proposals; performing technical work on software projects; and performing analysis of rulemakings.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a (Technical/engineering) Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university, and have a minimum of five years of progressive relevant experience in an energy related field. Applicants must have in-depth knowledge of the technology and practices of the electric industry; regulatory knowledge of CAA, CWA, RCRA; electric industry knowledge of DOE, NERC, and Technical OPS through previous work experience. Candidates with programming experience a plus. This position requires strong statistics and economics skills; the ability to present ideas clearly, concisely and accurately, both orally and in writing; the ability to undertake and complete projects with moderate supervision and in a team environment while handling a variety of task simultaneously; the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with personnel of member utilities, federal agencies and other organizations.
