Organization Overview

“Sustainable Development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.”

We represent the following NGOs in Consultative Status with the UN:Association of Former UN Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE), Bangladesh Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) and Central and North Pakistan Woman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI).

We host meetings with guest speakers at United Nations Headquarters, New York, on issues relating to sustainable development: climate change, greenhouse gas, water, environmental governance, renewable energy, etc. Also, interns have the opportunity to attend meeting at the United Nations Headquarters, and subsequently prepare reports.

We liaise in all areas of Sustainable Development with representatives of Member States, members of the United Nations Secretariat, other NGOs, academia, private sector.

We are also involved in sustainable development projects in the developing world, mainly Liberia, as well as work to encourage women’s empowerment.

We seek intellectually curious Interns, Associates, Professionals or Retired on a volunteer basis to engage in and support our efforts.

Qualifications

Seeking Long-Term Student Interns, Associates (including retirees), for part -time, volunteer positions:

1.Preferably with a background in sustainable development/ renewable energy , advancement of women, with particular skills in meeting planning, research, editing, general office work. Familiarity with the workings of the U.N. Commission on Sustainable Development and the UN Commission on the Advancement of Women is also desirable.

2.English language, strong written and verbal skills is a must.

3.VERY interested in applicants with Web Design, Fund-Raising experience, and technical computer expertise.

4. NGO Sustainability Inc. has just received its 501(C)3 tax exempt status. Therefore, with great enthusiasm we are looking for a pro-bono fundraiser/marketer to see us through the process.
