Environmental Outreach Intern – Seattle, WA
Position Title: Outreach Assistant
Location: Seattle, WA
Hours & Compensation: 10 hours per week, flexible schedule during regular office hours, M – F 9am – 6pm. Unpaid.
Application Deadline: July 12, 2013
The King County ECO Net (which is sponsored by the environmental group Futurewise) is a partnership of nonprofit organizations, government agencies and private entities that work together to conduct joint activities as well as provide a forum for education, outreach, and involvement opportunities for our community members to restore and protect ecosystem health in the county.
We are seeking a student intern to support our outreach efforts for the ECO Net and for a fun new project that is starting this summer around the topic of automobile fluid leaks. The outreach assistant will play an important role, working with staff and partners to learn more about what each group does as well as help support the new oil leaks project. You do not need to know anything about oil leaks, as we are all going to be learning about the topic together!
This is an unpaid volunteer position or an ideal internship for a college student seeking class credit for hands-on work experience. The ECO Net (via Futurewise) provides its interns a supportive, flexible work environment with opportunity to develop professional skills and make an impact!
We seek a highly motivated and outgoing person with good writing and interpersonal skills. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to get experience on a hands-on community outreach project.
- Comfort engaging community members
- Excellent organizational and planning skills and follow through
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively on a team
- Interested in the issues facing Puget Sound, its ecosystem and policy issues
How to Apply:
To apply for this intern opportunity, please submit a short cover letter and resume by July 12th to Franziska@futurewise.org
