Description: The New York office is the largest of Enterprise’s ten local offices. Our NY sustainability program addresses climate change mitigation, resilience, and adaptation in the context of multifamily affordable housing development, management, and preservation. We test promising strategies through innovative pilot programs in partnership with affordable housing owners and public agencies; and enable broad adoption of best practices through capital delivery and policy. Our sustainability work is stewarded by staff with backgrounds in affordable housing asset management, policy, program design and delivery, as well as a growing technical building science team. We also work in close collaboration with staff of Enterprise’s national initiatives, including Green Communities, Design Excellence, Health and Housing, Innovation, and Knowledge Impact and Strategy.

Responsibilities: Enterprise seeks a talented and experienced project manager to join our New York office program as a Program Associate. This position reports to the Program Director for Green Communities and will provide project management for projects ranging in scope from policy and program design consulting to on-the-ground capacity building for housing owners.

  • Create and distribute tools, and organize trainings to help affordable housing developers and owners to build and manage sustainable and resilient affordable housing
  • Design and implement an outreach strategy to inform architecture and design firms about sustainability requirements for affordable housing in New York
  • Support public agencies to design and implement sustainability policies

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Independently manage discrete projects, ensuring timely delivery of outputs to high professional standards
  • Coordinate the work of consultants and/or partners, scheduling meetings and maintaining open lines of communications for successful project outcomes
  • Research of policy, finance, and programmatic topics relating to building science, alternative and distributed energy, water efficiency, etc.
  • Manage regular internal communications to inform all NY-based staff of highlights of the sustainability work in New York
  • Support program administration, including contracts, budget tracking, funder reporting, etc., under supervision of the Program Director.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • At least two (2) years relevant experience required
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in a professional context
  • Professional exposure to building science, energy efficiency field work, or construction management preferred
  • Professional exposure to affordable housing or residential property management preferred
