Dates and compensation: Full-time; $50,000-55,000

Description: The Gulf Restoration Network is a non-profit organization made up of an alliance of groups and individuals committed to uniting and empowering people to restore the resources of the Gulf region. GRN is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to work full time leading campaign development and implementation including management and supervision of GRN campaign staff. The position requires extensive work with coalitions, allies, the media, funders, and policymakers.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and directing the work of GRNs campaign staff, consultants, and intern.
  • Developing a vision for GRN’s campaign work in terms of issue focus, organizational goals and growth consistent with GRN’s strategic plan.
  • Designing and implementing campaign and outreach strategies in cooperation with other senior staff; and serving in a leadership capacity for GRN in management and planning.
  • Serving as an organizational spokesperson on campaigns or issues that have regional implications or touch upon a wide range of GRN work.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with coalition partners, key constituencies and non-traditional allies.
  • Assisting the Executive Director and Development Director with foundation and major donor fundraising, including meetings with foundation staff, development of letters of inquiry and grant proposals.
  • Ensuring integration of campaigns and projects, through regular communication with senior staff (Executive Director, Communications Director, Development Director, and Senior Policy Director).

Qualifications:

  • At least seven years’ experience in environmental policy, nonprofit advocacy, issue campaigns, planning, organizing, or other related fields.
  • Experience managing and supervising both junior and experienced personnel with diverse scopes of work.
  • Excellent writing and oratory skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to function as part of a team and work collaboratively.
