The American Clean Skies Foundation (ACSF) is a Washington D.C. non-profit founded in 2007 to advance America’s energy independence and a cleaner environment through expanded use of natural gas, renewables and efficiency. The Foundation carries out its mission primarily by encouraging large scale fuel switching in the electric power sector based on innovative regulatory and business proposals; and promoting alternative fuel vehicles, especially natural gas powered vehicles, using public policy tools and demonstration projects. Both of these program initiatives seek to catalyze change through carefully targeted government interventions and entrepreneurial activity. ACSF also supports a wide range of educational and media programs, including white papers, conferences, workshops, TV shows, films, and web sites, to advance its goals.
The American Clean Skies Foundation seeks a Director of Public Policy & Research to oversee and implement public policy research and educational initiatives. This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to manage multiple projects and author publishable, peer-reviewed work for a broad national audience. Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial with proven policy experience; have an advanced degree (Ph.D., MBA or JD); demonstrated knowledge of electric utility regulation; and background on policy framework for alternative fueled vehicles. The position requires 7-10 years management and/or research/teaching experience with a think tank, consultancy or academic institution; and strong commitment to Foundation’s agenda for change. The Director reports directly to CEO of ACSF and will manage the recruitment of additional staff.
