Description:

Purpose:  To provide Hudson Valley communities with inspiring examples of green jobs and climate change-friendly initiatives, which effectively address the dual challenges of assuring climate justice in difficult economic times by showcasing eight projects designed to mitigate or adapt to climate change and by sharing local green jobs success stories.

9:45- 10:00 AM Community Vulnerability to Climate Change: Kristin Marcell, Hudson River Estuary Program Special Project Coordinator, NYS DEC

10:00 – 11:10 AM Climate Justice Council Presentations: Panelists from the Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Beacon, and Peekskill Climate Justice Councils will showcase projects that can reduce the impacts of climate change and prepare for or adapt to those which cannot be mitigated. This information is relevant to all Hudson River Cities, including Catskill, Hudson, Newburgh, Haverstraw, Ossining, Yonkers and beyond.
