Visual Score Study/Baton Placement and Body Movement Technique

June 24–28
This program unites the study of Institute repertoire, using visual score study/baton placement techniques, with instruction in the Alexander Technique as it relates directly to the enhancement of performance skills and expression. Maestro Farberman teaches score study and baton placement. Alexander Farkas teaches the Alexander Technique.

Repertoire:

  • Beethoven—Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 (mvmt. I to first ending)
  • Mozart—Overture to Die Zauberflöte, K. 620 (introduction to allegro)
  • Schubert—Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (mvmt. 1)

Note: At the first meeting, participants should be prepared to conduct an excerpt of their choice from the above core repertoire.
