Preparatory Division

Tuition and Fees per Semester

Fall Semester
13 Saturdays, September 12 through December 19 (except October 10, and November 28)

Spring Semester
13 Saturdays, January 30 through May 15 (except February 13, March 27, and April 3)

Tuition includes private lessons, Performance Class, and Musicianship Class.

A registration fee of $50 per semester, per family is required.

Pee Wee Division (ages 5 to 6)
Includes a half hour of private instruction, along with a 60-minute musicianship class which will focus on reading music (treble and bass clefs), rhythm, and singing. $1,080 per semester, per student

Junior Division (ages 7 to 13)
With 30-minute private lessons: $1,800 per semester, per student
With 45-minute private lessons: $1,900 per semester, per student
With 60-minute private lessons: $2,000 per semester, per student

Senior Division (ages 14 to 18)
With 60-minute private lessons: $2,000 per semester, per student

Registration, including full-semester payment and registration fee, is due by September 1 for the fall semester, and by January 15 for the spring semester.

Refund policy: A full refund will be made for withdrawal before the start of classes. A refund of 80 percent will be made for withdrawal before the second Saturday of each semester. No refund will be made after the second Saturday of the semester.

SPECIAL COURSE FOR STUDENTS THIS FALL:

 A Dalcroze Sampler (two workshops)

The Dalcroze approach provides an in-depth education in the fundamentals of music. Combining the experiential with the analytical, Dalcroze students integrate the ear, mind, and body through rhythmic movement, active listening, singing, and improvisation. These two workshops provide a sampler of Dalcroze techniques and games.

 Saturday, September 26 and Saturday, October 3

 For Bard College Conservatory and Music Program students

1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

For children of the community (ages 5 to 8): 3-4 p.m.

3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Cynthia Lilley holds a Dalcroze Certificate and License and received her training at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, and the Dalcroze School at Lucy Moses in NYC. She has given workshops across the United States and presently teaches children at the Special Music School and adults at the Dalcroze School and the Diller-Quaile School of Music, all in New York City, and at the University of St. Thomas summer Graduate Program in Music Education in St. Paul, MN.
