Leonardo Pineda '15
Leonardo Pineda is from Colón, Venezuela, where he studied violin with Simon Gollo in “El Sistema,” the Venezuelan orchestra system created by Jose Antonio Abreu. At Bard he is pursuing degrees in French studies and violin performance. Leonardo is the founder and artistic director of the
Colon Music Festival in Venezuela, a program that involves students from Bard College Conservatory of Music, the
Longy School of Music of Bard College and hundreds of students from different regions of Venezuela. Leonardo has participated in music festivals in Europe and South America and spent last summer studying French at the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France.
Leonardo studies with Laurie Smukler.
