Fees and Tuition
For the 2012/13 academic year tuition, fees and expenses were as follows:
Tuition: $35,492 per year.
Health Insurance: $1,402*
Bard Health Services Fee: $452**
Dormitory Housing: $6742.00***
*This is mandatory for those students who do not already have health insurance; To be wiaved from this fee proof of insurance must be submitted to Student Health Services. Please note that this health insurance plan is mandatory for international applicants.

2012–2013 Bard College Student Accident and Sickness Insurance PlanBard College offers student health insurance via Allen J. Flood Companies. Graduate students considering enrolling in the new Bard College Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan (“Bard plan” or “Bard insurance”) should read through the brochure carefully to make certain it will adequately meet their needs. Copies of the plan brochure and claim forms, information on claim procedures, and links to provider networks can be accessed from the plan administrator’s website at

For students enrolling at Bard for the 2012–2013 academic year, the 12-month health insurance plan costs $1,402.00 and covers up to $100,000 per sickness or injury. This premium is charged in full at the beginning of the academic year. Once enrolled, students are committed for the full year; there is no opportunity to opt-out of the plan until the following year. In addition, students on campus during the academic year will be charged a mandatory Bard health services fee of $452.00.
Fees for both the Bard insurance and the on-campus health services (if applicable) will automatically be billed to students’ accounts. The student insurance fee will be credited to a student’s account upon waiver approval.
All international graduate students are automatically enrolled in the Bard plan; there is no waiver option. The health services fee cannot be waived.
