Julia Bullock '11

Native to St. Louis, soprano Julia Bullock recently received her Bachelors from the Eastman School of Music where she performed the roles of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro (2009) and Monica in The Medium (2008). Julia is a proud, second year recipient of the William Warfield Scholarship and second place winner of the Friends of Eastman Opera Competition (2009). She participated in the Artists in Training (AIT) program with Opera Theater of St. Louis (2003-05) leaving the program receiving the Marielle Hubner Award. Julia has given public recitals in Rochester, Dallas, St. Louis, and has performed in The Municipal Opera Association of St. Louis’ (The Muny) productions of Beauty and the Beast (2005), Singin’ in the Rain (2005), Oklahoma (2007) and My Fair Lady (2008). She is a member of Actors' Equity Association.      

Julia's passion for art song and opera fuels her want to make classical music more accessible to modern audiences.  As she begins her years of graduate work at Bard, Julia looks forward to finding ways in which to contribute to her community, while practicing her chosen profession.
