Welcome, Class of 2013. We look forward to meeting you. Soon you will join over 12,000 Bard alumni/ae worldwide; it sounds like a lot, but it is a special club to be a member of. Bardians are everywhere, and they do a bit of everything. They work as water supply and sanitation consultants at The World Bank, communications leaders for political campaigns in Chicago, senior business analysts in San Francisco, Fulbright scholars in Jordan, solar energy consultants in Cambodia, and software engineers at Apple Computer. They are also teachers, professors, dancers, writers, filmmakers, photographers plus anything else you can imagine.

Remember: Bardian and proud.

Jane Brien ’89, Anne Canzonetti ’84, and Joanna Tanger ’07 make up the Office of Alumni/ae Affairs, which is located in the Alumni/ae Center directly across 9G from main campus. It is open Monday through Friday 9-5, and please email if you would like to visit us or have any questions.

The Office of Alumni/ae Affairs puts on alumni/ae events on campus and around the country, connects current students with alumni/ae in their field of interest, coordinates reunions, and encourages alumni/ae to support the College and stay informed about the interesting things that are going on at Bard in Annandale and Bard around the world. A monthly e-newsletter called The Annandale Triangle features media coverage of alumni/ae, goings-on for Bard, events being held by/for alumni/ae, and much more. You are almost an alumna/us so you will soon be a member of The BardSt. Stephen’s Alumni/ae* Association. The Bard–St. Stephen's Alumni/e Association includes all graduates of the College - and even non-graduates who attended Bard for at least a year. After graduation the Bard–St. Stephen’s Alumni/ae Association will help you stay connected with Bard and offer you the opportunity to become involved in the alumni/ae community. It also exists to encourage alumni/ae to support Bard financially, acknowledging that without the support of alumni/ae the College would not be able to offer financial aid, superior faculty and resources, and many of the things that make a Bard education so unique. All gifts are meaningful.

When you graduate, consider joining a committee of the Alumni/ae Association and help organize the programs and activities of the Association where ever you may be living. Committees include one especially for Young Alumni/ae and others working on fundraising, events or career networking activities. In addition, class correspondents gather class notes from classmates for the Bardian.

Annandale Online and Bard Groups

Annandale Online is the official website dedicated to Bard Alumni/ae. Annandale Online offers information about events being hosted by the Alumni/ae Office and events involving alumni/ae around the country. It offers opportunities for professional networking and an alumni/ae database. Bard news is posted on Annandale Online and the latest issue of the Bardian is available there too. Alumni/ae can post their information for class notes on Annandale Online and the Bardian. You’ll receive login information later this year.

There is a Bard—St. Stephen’s Facebook Page that is regularly updated by the Alumni/ae Office and encourages postings by alumni/ae, as well as various satellite Bard Facebook pages for alumni/ae with specific interests and locations such as

There is also a Bard Alumni/ae LinkedIn group with professional information for over 1,600 Bardians. LinkedIn is an excellent networking tool, and it is easy to search for Bard alumni/ae in specific fields.

Alumni/ae can use the website just as students can. Search for job listings and contact mentors to talk about professions you may be investigating.

Annual Bard Alumni/ae Events

Bard Holiday Party is free to all alumni/ae from the last two years. Held annually in New York City, typically over 400 alumni/ae from the classes of 1950 to the most recent graduates come back to mingle in an elegant setting over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Cities Parties are held in April in cities across the country where alumni/ae gather usually in a bar or club to make connections, reconnect, and find out who else is in their area from Bard.

held on campus, a chance to return to take classes, enjoy the fall in Annandale and meet alumni/ae from different eras. 

The Office of Alumni/ae Affairs plans 6-8 other events per year that in the past have included tours of The Whitney Museum of American Art, seats at Yankees games, visits to the Saratoga Race Track, private tours of Carnegie Hall, LGBTQ cocktail receptions, career networking events, and much more.
