Faculty Position – Special Education – MathematicsBard High School Early College (BHSEC) Newark, a partnership between Bard College and the Newark Public Schools in Newark, NJ, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Mathematics, beginning September 2018, with a focus on Special Education. BHSEC seeks candidates with Special Education/Students with Disabilities certification able to teach Mathematics courses in high school algebra and geometry.
BHSEC, a national model of public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to complete a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree from Bard College within four years of study. The academic program emphasizes small classes and a commitment to teaching a diverse student body.
The successful applicant for this position will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school, including student advising, club advising, and committee service. B.A. required; Master’s level degree and previous high school teaching experience desirable. Work authorization in the United States required for all BHSEC Newark faculty positions.
