BPI TASC Associate Director

BPI TASC is BPI’s high school equivalency program, operating in NYC. It is a 6-month pathway-to-college program for adult learners with an enrollment of approximately 50 students annually across two program sites. The program is distinguished by its teaching staff all being BPI alumni and by an enhanced HSE curriculum, which includes liberal arts programming and activities that are in keeping with the college’s practices.

The BPI TASC Associate Director is responsible for daily operations of BPI TASC with administrative support from BPI reentry staff; leading HSE classroom instruction; professional development of other BPI TASC staff including the Teaching Fellow and program tutors; instruction of incarcerated BPI students for four weeks every summer in Sullivan County, NY; and, representing the program publicly. 

The candidate should have experience teaching in high school, college and/or high school equivalency programs or related material and demonstrated ability to think innovatively in engaging adult learners, creating pathways to higher education, and inspiring students to invest in HSE, as well as experience building and managing innovative programs. MA or equivalent degree preferred but not required. No experience with the criminal justice system or those involved is required.
