Special Events Associate
Bard College’s Office of Development and Alumni/ae Affairs is seeking a Special Events Associate, reporting directly to the Special Events Manager. The Associate will be required to coordinate and assist with the management of special events on campus, and other locations, for trustees, alumni/ae, friends, parents and other college constituents. This individual must have previous professional event planning experience, particularly in a fast paced environment. Experience in an education or non-profit environment preferred.
The successful candidate will have 3+ years of related special events experience and be a self-starter with enthusiasm for the College’s mission and have an ability to plan, organize and direct multiple activities and meet all project deadlines. The successful candidate will have superior project and time management skills, knowledge of budget preparation, maintenance and monitoring, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and computer literacy (including proficiency with Excel and Word mail merge). Familiarity with database management is a plus. Excellent customer service and professional telephone manner skills are required. Willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary is essential. Position is based in Annandale on Hudson, although occasional travel to NYC may be required.
