Employer Website: http://www.bard.edu/mat/The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Education for our Annandale and New York City campuses beginning in June 2013. The MAT Program is committed to rigorous graduate training in the disciplines; intense involvement in the middle and high school classrooms; and a re-conceptualized education curriculum. Now in its eighth year, the MAT program has campuses in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY; at the International Community High School in the Bronx, NY; at the Paramount Bard Academy in Delano, CA; and at Al-Quds University in Palestine.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D or Ed.D with expertise in the areas of Cognition and Instruction or Curriculum and Instruction as well as Science or Math Education. Previous experience as a public school teacher is desirable. Responsibilities include teaching education courses and team-taught laboratory courses, supporting students’ classroom research projects, working with partner schools, and providing professional development to teachers. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
