Biography:B.A., Douglass College, Rutgers University; M.F.A., The New School, Ph.D. Candidate, CUNY Graduate Center. Her research focuses on Composition and Rhetoric and Contemporary Poetics, with a particular emphasis on the way the two fields can and do speak to each other, particularly in a freshman writing classroom. Kaufman currently teaches in the English Department at Baruch College (CUNY), in the MFA Fine Arts Program at Parsons The New School for Design, and is a faculty associate at the Institute for Writing & Thinking. Books include censory impulse, NO GENDER: On the Life and Work of kari edwards (co-edited with Julian T. Brolaski and E. Tracy Grinnell), and INSTANT CLASSIC (forthcoming).
