Biography:

B.A., Columbia University; M.A., Ph.D., New York University; Certificate in Education, University of Brasilia. Awarded fellowships from the Remarque Institute, Mellon Foundation (1996); American Council of Learned Societies (1995); International Research & Exchanges Board (1995); recipient, Anaïs Nin Scholarship, New York University (1994–95). Taught at New York University, Columbia University, Independent British Institute (Brasilia), Cultura Inglesa (Brasilia). Publications include "Debts to Olga: Vaclav Havel's Letters from Prison" in Jednïm okem (2002). At Bard since 2003.
