Books include Herodotus (in the Yale Hermes series, 1998) and Ghost on the Throne: The Death of Alexander the Great and the War for Crown and Empire (Knopf, 2011). Editor of the volume The Landmark Arrian in the distinguished Landmark Ancient Histories series. (1990–96, 2000–02) Associate Professor of Classics; (2002– ) James H.
